Start Up Guide for LED Displays with GamePresenter and Laptop

Congratulations on your purchase of Sideline Interactive LED Scorer’s
Table and Video Board! Our high-quality equipment will give you years
of fundraising and coaching use.

Use this guide to help you use your scorers’ table for the first time.  The guide is broken into four sections:

1. Turning On/Off Table or Video Board

1. TURNING ON/OFF TABLE OR VIDEO BOARD

A. To Turn On Table

1.Connect table’s electrical plug to power outlet and turn on power strip

2. Connect the HDMI cable from table to laptop. (go to step 5 if you are using PRO-LED table)

3. Optional FOR TV TABLE MODELS ONLY – Turn Monitors on using included remote. If you have an LED or PRO-LED table, you do not have to use a remote.  LED screens will turn on automatically without a remote.

4. OPTIONAL FOR MULTIPLE TABLES  – If you are using multiple LED tables, ensure all Ethernet connections are connected to the next table in proper sequence.

5. Turn on the laptop. After computer finishes bootup, launch GamePresenter application on the desktop.

 

B. To Turn Off Table

1. Shut down GamePresenter and Shut Down Laptop.  Do not close the lid without shutting down the computer.

2. Turn off power strip and unplug from power source

3.Secure all connections and store away.

4. Unlock all the wheels and put on table cover if you have it.  Push table by its side handle into storage area.

3. SCREEN RESOLUTIONS FOR TABLES AND VIDEO BOARDS

Images should be created in JPG or PNG format.
Animations should be in MP4 format.

4. FAQ & TROUBLE SHOOTING

If the front of the board looks look to be magnified and your image is not showing fully, your computer resolution scaling may be incorrect. Please read this article to correct it. Click Here

  1. Connect power strip to a 110Volt power outlet.
  2. Turn on power strip by flipping the switch so that it glows red.
  3. Make sure the MONITORS on the table are turned ON.
  4. Connect VGA and USB cord to laptop.
  5. Turn on Laptop.
  6. After Windows starts, open GamePresenter program and run your slideshow.
    To TURN OFF, do everything in reverse order. Make power strip is turn off by flipping switch so that it does not glow.
  • The monitors may be off. Use your remote control, push the POWER ON button. Make sure to point the remote very close to the monitors and directly at the monitors.
  • Make sure the VGA cable and USB cable are attached to your computer.
  • Make sure power is going to your table by looking at the power strip attached to your table. The power strip should be lit up if power is ON.
  • Make sure the power cord from the monitors is plugged into the power strip. The power cord from the monitor will be the cord coming from the round hole from inside the table to the power strip.
  • Make sure your monitor is set to HDMI1 using your remote’s INPUT button.

·      Make sure your VGA connection to the laptop is secure and fully engaged to the laptop.

·      Check the pins on the VGA connection, making sure the pins are straight.  If the pins are bent or missing, the VGA cord must be replaced.

 

  • On your laptop’s desktop, open the program called “Display Switch Menu”. It will open up a new window with the options, “PC Screen Only”, “Duplicate”, “Extend”, “Second Screen Only”. 
  • Choose the Extend option. Your scoring table and laptop should now have different displays.  Use Extend mode for games when you do not want the audience to see what’s on your laptop.
  • Choose the Duplicate option. Your scoring table and laptop should now have the same displays. Use Duplicate option for practices and watching game film. The audience will see exactly what’s on your laptop as you work.
  • If you have any problem, try rebooting your computer. It will clear out any bad settings and reset everything back to normal.
  • If GamePresenter’s AD rotation has taken over your laptop screen, click on the ESC key several times. It will end the AD rotation and bring you back to the Operator Console of GamePresenter.
  • Go to GamePresenter’s Settings, then the AD Rotation tab. Make sure “Assign Monitors” button is NOT SET TO MONITOR 1. SET ASSIGN MONITORS to MONITOR 2 or the appropriate display for your setup (as long as it’s not MONITOR 1). Click OK, and then SAVE.
  • Make sure all of your monitors are turned ON by using your remote control to turn on all monitors.
  • Make sure your monitor is set to HDMI1 using your remote’s INPUT button.
  • On the laptop, set the resolution of the second monitor to either 3840×1080 for DUALVIEW table or 3840×720 for the TRIPLEVIEW table. To set the resolution on the second monitor, go to Windows, click on the Start Menu, then Control Panel, then Display.  Once the Display Settings comes up, click on Monitor 2, and set the resolution to either 3840×1080 for DUALVIEW table or 3840×720 for the TRIPLEVIEW table.
  • If you have any problem, try rebooting your computer. It will clear out any bad settings and reset everything back to normal.
